Colorado Springs Law Firm Divorce · Personal Injury · Criminal Defense · Children’s Law · Military LawAt our Colorado Springs law firm, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly environment, with a special welcome for every visitor from our office dog, Niki. Lawyers Michael Duncan and Kate Harvey work with confidence, integrity, and caring. Our goal is to ensure that you receive the best representation possible. Attorney Michael J. Duncan served in the Army JAG Corp for four years, defending active duty service people facing court martial. He understands how civilian legal problems can affect a military career, how military benefits affect a divorce, and how a court-martial can impact life after service. He provides military law representation, criminal defense in civilian courts, and legal help with divorce for many active duty and retired military personnel and families in the U.S., across the nation, and stationed overseas. He entered solo legal practice in 1991, and has provided a wide range of legal services to the people of Colorado Springs and nearby military bases for the past 15 years. He is admitted to practice law before the Colorado Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Court of Criminal Appeals and the U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals. In addition to his law practice, Michael is President of the Trails and Open Space Coalition, and is involved with Justice Watch, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Safe Place (a nonprofit organization that finds homes for the pets of terminally ill people—that’s how we received Niki). Attorney Kate Harvey brings to the firm six years of experience in the specialized legal area of children’s law, handing dependency and neglect cases. She was formerly a guardian ad litem and a county attorney for the El Paso County Department of Human Services and is very familiar with the child protective service system. We invite you to learn more about our law firm by reviewing our Web site, and then contact our Colorado Springs law firm to schedule an appointment. We are open Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We accept personal injury cases on either a contingent fee basis or an hourly rate. A contingent fee arrangement means that we get paid attorneys' fees only if we recover money for you. You will still be responsible for the expenses of the case, however, including the filing fee, court reporters, and expert witnesses, such as doctors. We will advise you if we believe that it is not cost effective for you to pursue a claim. Michael J.
